Why choose us?
Four good reasons to grab a piece of increasingly collectable mountain movie history and choose Hillwalks on Video for that perfect outdoors gift, planner or timeless keepsake of favourite hill-walking days.

PIONEERING FILMS TO FAMOUS SUMMITS
The first ever filmed walks to the felltops
Hillwalks on Video are the recognised originators of the now popular genre of first-person filmed walks to well-known UK mountains. After the release of the first filmed hill walk in history, – our 1994 “Scafell Pike from Borrowdale” ; by 1996 former BBC regional presenter Eric Robson had scrambled a film crew onto Striding Edge to cover the Helvellyn walk; going on to copy our three-title presentation format and lifting from our sales pitch virtually word-for-word.

2) RE- LIVING THE HILLWALKING EXPERIENCE
The DVDs are produced to take the viewer back in spirit to familiar or favourite mountains again – many customers over the years commented on how our unique style of POV film-making imparts a distinct sense of being there – of re-living the walk concerned. Award-winning photography and high production values guarantee stunning views of surrounding scenery, from colourful rock lichens to grand sweeping mountain panoramas.

3) SUPERIOR INFORMATION PACKAGE
In addition to occasional evocative background mood music and the natural ambient sounds of the hills present during the recording, brief subtitles give names, distances and spot heights of surrounding fells to the horizon. This, along with relevant yet unobtrusive commentary at intervals, make our hillwalking DVDs the hill-going connoisseurs’ choice, with the fells themselves – not the personalities of the presenters – being the stars of the show.

4) GUARANTEED CLEAR CONDITIONS
We believe our customers deserve to see the hills at their best, even though many were climbed more than once before the recognized professional landscape photographic standard of excellent light combined with unrestricted visibility was present.
No wandering in pouring rain or through the mist of low cloud – if you’re contemplating purchasing hillwalking videos, there’s no need to watch dreary footage filmed in dull or viewless conditions.
